Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (Enviro) has appointed Staffan Kullberg as new CFO. The appointment has been made to strengthen the company’s finance department in conjunction with the ongoing commercialisation and industrialisation of the company’s recycling technology. Staffan Kullberg has extensive experience within the field of finance and has previously held a number of senior positions in the Volvo Group, including as CFO of Volvo IT. He has also undertaken senior finance assignments for the investment company Ratos’s portfolio companies.

It its latest press release, the European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) stated that after 77 years of peace, humanity experiencing the tragedy of a war in Europe which is expected to be long, with all the tragic consequences connected to it: humanitarian, economic, environmental, political, etc. The cost of energy, which doubled already before the war, has now decupled posing serious concerns about energy availability and affordability and survival of many industries (Tyre Recyclers included) as well as families.

Ndustrial’s automated energy management system is now being used by tire and scrap recycling company Genan. This technology has the ability to support industrial facilities with energy optimization and intensity. According to Ndustrial, the system has already resulted in a $1 million energy cost reduction for the mechanical tire recycler.

The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC) strongly rejects an EU proposal that will indirectly ban materials from tyres as part of its effort to eradicate microplastics. Each year around 150 million tyres are processed for recycling annually – that’s one tyre for every three EU citizens. This rubber from recycled tyres has a wide range of everyday benefits that may not always be obvious – including essential materials for artificial football pitches, children’s playgrounds, and filling potholes.

Pennsylvania-based rubber flooring manufacturer Ecore International plans to invest $25.5 million to open a regional manufacturing facility in Ozark, Alabama, where it will create 84 jobs. Ecore specializes in transforming reclaimed materials into high-performance flooring and surface products. The privately held company based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is the largest converter of reclaimed rubber in North America, and its largest raw material is scrap truck tires.
