The Ministry of the Environment of Bogotá organized again a series of sessions called “Llantatón”, between August 11 and 25, to collect end-of-life tires in the towns of Barrios Unidos, Usme, Kennedy and Usaquén, points in the that tires that have finished their useful life will be collected from motorcycles, bicycles and vehicles whose rim is up to 22.5.

In its latest press release, Spanish EPR agency TNU (Tratamiento Neumáticos Usados) explains that all the waste generated by a tire after its use, rubber, steel and fabric, are a rich source of material and energy resources since they can be reused. Currently, the depletion of natural raw materials and fossil fuels is forcing us to seek more sustainable solutions, and in this sense, the recycling of end-of-life tires has important advantages. There are numerous ways of recovering and transforming its components into innovative and sustainable uses, allowing to reduce the environmental impact, as is the case with these useful and safe brake pads for trucks.

According to News & Star magazine, members of the public have spoken with developers about the possibility of submitting a planning request for two pyrolysis facilities north of Carlisle, UK. In July, members of the public and the Rockcliffe parish council examined the public consolation for a "sustainable eco-project" of two facilities proposed for the Rockcliffe Northwest Recycling Centre – one for plastics and one for tires.

After end-of-life tires collected, they are processed into crumb rubber and then sent to manufacturers to turn those broken-down rubber materials into new products like playground surfaces, athletic tracks, garden mulch, and a product that is important in the farming industry, but perhaps less-known to the public–horse mats.
