CM Shredders – one of the leading tire recycling equipment manufacturers worldwide – announced recently the installation of a new state-of-the-art, high-capacity automated tire shredding system for its customer Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) in Suffolk, Virginia, USA. According to CM’s press release, the new system, which can process end-of-life car, truck and light OTR tires, features CM's brand new HT-250 Hybrid Primary Shredder integrated with a high-volume automatic infeed system. According to CM, the system’s capacity reached 30 tons per hour during runoff tests.

As reported earlier, this year, India plans to implement an EPR scheme for tires. The consultation document was released in January, and the system has already been eased. In a letter from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change to the All India Rubber & Tyre Recyclers Association (AIRTIA and the Recycling & Environment Industry Association of India (REIAI), the ministry advised on the following easement.
