With the assistance of Monitor via Modular Finance, Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) has prepared a register of the 15 largest owners of the company as of June 30, 2023. Following the directed share issue in May, the company’s new owners include Handelsbanken Fonder, Swedbank Robur Fonder and Skandia Fonder. Michelin did not participate in the issue but remains the largest shareholder by a considerable margin with 16.28%.

Bosnia and Herzegovina‘s Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, Almir Bečarević, presented a permit for waste management for the processing and recycling of end-of-life tires to Zlatko Sejmenović, the director of material recovery company NEGRO CROWN d.o.o. Sarajevo. This gives NEGRO CROWN the opportunity to establish a tire recycling plant in the canton of Sarajevo.

Oldrati Guarnizioni Industriali SpA, a company of the Oldrati Group, an Italian producer of rubber, plastic and silicone products, announced an investment of more than 6 million Euro. This project will be carried out thanks to the support of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT), with the resources managed by the National Complementary Fund (PNC) which has integrated and completed the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), which is part of the Next Generation EU (NGEU) program developed by the European Union in 2021.

According to Bayside Council (Sydney), in June 2023, Bayside conducted a trial using recycled rubber from end-of-life car and truck tires in the asphalt mix for the first road on Willison Road, Bexley, Sydney. The roadwork resulted in an impressive appearance and sturdy performance. This paving initiative, involving 12 Sydney Councils, aims to achieve significant environmental and economic benefits by incorporating recycled tire rubber in road construction. An initial 3,600 standard passenger car tires or 2,400 car and 490 truck tires combined will be used in the crumbed rubber asphalt trial project, involving 12 Councils in the region.

In the end of June 2023, Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) released two reports which provide best practice engagement principles for use by industry, government and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities to increase resource recovery of Off-The-Road (OTR) rubber products such as tires, conveyor belts and tracks. This is a clear set of principles for OTR rubber resource recovery which recognises and accounts for the needs and expectations of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs).
