Hanover will welcome Tire Technology back on March 4, 5, and 6, 2025. Now in its 25th year, Tire Technology Expo remains the tire industry's essential annual event, gathering a global community of scientists, engineers, academics and professionals to share knowledge, learn about the latest industry developments, see new products, and shape the future of tire manufacturing and design.

Specifically, recovered Carbon Black (rCB) and Tire Pyrolysis Oil (TPO), obtained through thermolysis processes from used tires, should be classified as valuable secondary products rather than waste. The lack of harmonization between the EU Waste Framework Directive and the EU Chemicals Regulation REACH could otherwise spell the end of chemical circular economy initiatives for used tires.

Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) CEO Fredrik Emilson shared insights on the company’s 2024 milestones, highlighting advancements in tire recycling technology and strategic goals for scaling operations. This year marked significant progress for Enviro with the construction of its first full-scale plant in Uddevalla, Sweden. Designed as a blueprint for future facilities, this state-of-the-art facility integrates Enviro’s pyrolysis technology and sets the foundation for achieving the joint venture’s goal of one million tons of processing capacity by 2030.

Green Carbon Co. has partnered with Thailand Natural Rubber Corp. to develop biochar-based carbon credits using rubber wood scraps. This collaboration aims to enhance soil quality, reduce chemical fertilizer usage, and promote sustainability across Thai rubber plantations while adhering to global decarbonization and certification standards.

Arkansas' tire recycling program is struggling due to chronic underfunding, with scrap tires piling up across the state. The program relies on a state-mandated fee, but rising costs have outpaced revenues, leaving a funding gap. Efforts to increase tire fees have faced resistance, including a 2023 proposal that passed the Senate but stalled in the House, partly due to concerns over higher taxes.

Trek Bicycle and Liberty Tire Recycling announced the launch of an innovative bicycle tire recycling program across all Trek owned stores in North America. This initiative aims to provide cyclists with a free and responsible way to recycle their used bicycle tires. Starting on December 4, cyclists can bring their worn-out bicycle tires to a participating Trek store, where they will be collected and recycled at no cost to the consumer.

SIGNUS has announced a 3.4% reduction in the Ecovalor tire management fees for 2025, reflecting adjustments to the average weight of tires and decreased management costs. The update was revealed during a press meeting where SIGNUS reviewed its 2024 accomplishments and outlined upcoming initiatives for 2025.

Ecolomondo Corporation, a leading innovator in sustainable tire recycling technology, announces that it expects to soon receive its new milling line. As previously announced, the Company was in the final stages of the commercialization of its Hawkesbury TDP facility when it discovered a major deficiency in its recovered carbon black milling line that was already installed. After numerous months of testing, the milling line was incapable to achieve the promised output of 1,600 lbs per hour of recovered carbon black (rCB) nor was it capable to yield a particle size of 10-15 microns, the particle size promised and required by most of the Company’s rCB off-takers.
